These famous people decided that school did not fit them.

by The Dope Lists

Is there a student who is always delighted to go to school? Our beloved celebs are people too. And, as it turns out, some of them were not at all an example as students.

Moreover, some of the most talented people in Hollywood were the worst students ever.

Let’s see which are the Top 10 of the most famous stars expelled from school as children. Reading about them, you will find that your boredom from the lessons is no sin compared to what they have mischievous at school enough to be thrown dropped out of there:

Quentin Tarantino

The narrative of Quentin Tarantino is not by chance at the top of this list because it serves as an example of a non-student who eventually found success. He says that he dropped out of school, even hated it, and didn’t know the clock until he was a child. Already an adult, Quentin Tarantino speaks positively about education in general. Well, as adults, we come to this conclusion…

Katy Perry

Today, Katy Perry is well known as the singer of “Teenage Dream.” She shares her successful learning as a child, stating that her education was not the best. She failed at school to the point that she hired private teachers at home. According to her, “sometimes we were sent to these semi-Christian, semi-educational, I don’t know what you are, strange schools.” She also regrets that she did not have a chance for better education, as she believes it would give her a better chance in life.

Jennifer Lawrence

The actress has left high school and does not actually have a diploma. She claims to be a self-taught person. School was a real ordeal, and she never considered herself intelligent. But her dream of becoming an actress dates back to her 14 years of age. And as it turned out, the lack of high school education did not prevent her from receiving an Oscar nomination when she was only 20 years old.

Whoopi Goldberg

Dyslexia does not go harmless among those destined to become big, memorable stars in cinema – just like Whoopi Goldberg. In 2016, she revealed to the Children’s Mind Institute that she could not cope with her education due to dyslexia, which she was diagnosed with much later in life. She dropped out of high school, but her lack of a diploma didn’t stop her from being among the just 16 people in history to win the so-called EGOT: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.

John Travolta

John Travolta describes himself as an “average student.” Still, he dropped out of school to move to New York, which led to a breakup with an unnamed high school sweetheart. His past as a mediocre student actually helped him incarnate perfectly into similar types as Danny in Grease when he was 21.

Catherine Zeta-Jones

The movie star dropped out of school in the United Kingdom when she was just 15 to run on tour with the production of The Pajama Game. She remained in the theater guild for years before getting her big break in The Mask of Zorro. Does she regret her unfinished high school education? Hardly…

Hilary Swank

The actress, who played a high school teacher, admitted that she is not at all proud to say that she left high school in real life. And yet, like many conscious adults, she acknowledges that school is essential. And also, she warns that there is definitely a problem with education in the United States. Hilary believes it’s a shame that many children feel hopeless about their future.

Drew Barrymore

Barrymore was already a big-screen actress at the age of 3 in E.T. Then the wrong sides of fame hit her as she did many things she’s probably not proud of. In 2015, she revealed details about her unconventional childhood. Drew admitted that her life was not normal, and everything was reflected in the school. It is hardly a surprise then that she left at only 14 years old. The actress focused on self-education and found it better this way.

Marlon Brando

The legendary Brando described himself as a “bad student, chronically absent and incorrigible,” which led to his father sending him to a military school in Minnesota. But even there, he did not change his behavior, as a result of which he was expelled. When he arrived in New York at 18, he slept on the street until he found a job. A true story from rags to wealth that makes Marlon Brando one of the most famous actors in the history of cinema.

Charlie Sheen

Sheen was expelled from high school in Santa Monica due to poor attendance. Interestingly, he eventually got his diploma decades later – in 2013. Dropping out of school is hardly a surprise to anyone who has read about the scandals surrounding the personality of Charlie Sheen…

School is definitely essential, as most of these celebs admit years later. Still, it turns out that education was not decisive for them as they became global stars.
